Every bridesmaid I’ve ever met always has one big fear: that she is going to be stuck wearing a hideous dress at her best friend’s wedding! Please, don’t do this to your friends and family! Choose a dress that they’re actually going to be able to wear again (that means no poufy teal taffeta!) and a style that will be flattering for everyone. For a fun and whimsical touch, not everyone needs to be wearing the same thing.
- Ask all your girls to choose their own style dress, but limit them to one designer and one color. Though each will be in different shapes, the unifying shade will still make everyone look like a cohesive party. And make sure the length of everyone’s dress is the same to keep it looking purposeful.
- Think outside the box! Just because these girls are your bridesmaids, doesn’t mean they have to wear a “bridesmaids” dress. Shop your favorite regular designers and stores and pick a dress you love there. Patterns are always welcome and fun! And you know everyone will get more use out of these dresses.
- Choose a dress that can be worn different ways. One of my favorites is TwoBirds Bridesmaids. They have one dress style, but it can be tied into countless varieties. This way, everyone can turn it into the exact kind of dress that they are comfortable wearing, for your wedding day and beyond.
